The story of the wooden Pinocchio doll, which after countless trials became a real boy, was invented by Carlo Colody in just one night. But in it the old writer has put all the colorful brilliance of the Italian fairy tale and the power of his own fantasy and wisdom.
Carlo Colody (1826 - 1890) dedicated his life to Italy without a trace. He fought as a soldier and journalist for her liberation and unification.
Since 1881 he published on separate chapters in a weekly newspaper for children his best novel - "The Adventures of Pinocchio."
