Angel Karalyychev (1902-1972) was born in the town of Strazhitsa. He graduated from the diplomatic department of the Free University in Sofia in 1928. For more than 40 years he wrote stories, fairy tales and news for children. Angel Karalychev is the most read Bulgarian writer for children. His books were published in more than two million copies.
