Astrid Lindgren (1907-2002) wrote three novels about redheaded Pippi: Pippy Long Sock (1945), Pippy Gets On the Ship (1946) and Pippy in the South Seas (1948).
In 1968 a book entitled Pippy Long Sock appeared in Bulgarian. It includes some of the stories about Pippi from the three novels as well as her next editions. More specifically, 24 out of 32 chapters. So nearly a third of the stories about the redheaded girl remain unknown to our reader. The whole trilogy about Pippi is collected in this edition. For the first time in Bulgarian the chapters are published:
- Pippi fights fire.
- Pippi still lives in Villa Villacula
Pippi writes a letter and goes back to school - but for a while...
- And Pippi goes on a school trip
- Pippi at the fair
- Pippi stays in Villa Vilekula
- Pippi cheers Aunt Laura up.
