Before Dutch painting of the stillmort developed, artists had illustrated manuscript manuscripts to add emotional power to the writing work. Famous practitioner this style was Yoris Hofnagel. In the collection Flemish Rose was reproduced a page which he had sanctified for Mira caligraffiae monumenta, a manuscript from the middle of the 16th century by Georg Botsky.
