The eternal attractiveness of floral design is caught in the work of Irish illustrator William Kilburn. The artist behind William Curtis' book on the Flora Londinensis botanical, Kilburn, was also a designer and printer on calico textiles. The motives presented on this cover - seaweed - were so emblematic that he gave a dress with this right hand to the Queen of Ireland.
