The genre arose in Spain in the 16th century, as classical examples of spicy works are Lassarillo de Tormes And Gil Blass. Alan-Rene Lesage.
The archetypic of the attractive anti-hero is embodied in Gil Blass, the main character of Alan-Rene Lesage's spicy novel from the 18th century. Lesage's work is influenced by the history of Lassarillo de Tormes, a Spanish novel published anonymously in 1554. In this vision of a book for guests by Paper Blancs was reproduced the cover of the double edition of 1846 of these works.
