The Bible is a Greek word and means "books. " It contains many books - 77 of them.
They were written by 40 authors who lived in different times. The first was Moses, who lived about 1500 years before the Nativity. The latter was St. John of God, who lived about 100 years after the birth of Christ.
In this interval, some 1,600 years ago, the Holy Scriptures came out. It is called this because the words in it, although written by a human hand, are believed to be dictated by God.
